With an input lag of under 10ms, the S90C is incredibly responsive – as good as it gets for TVs.

In our tests, we recorded an excellent input lag of 10.4ms in Game mode. The Omni QLED handles fast motion well, particularly in first-person shooters like Battlefield V. While it lacks 120Hz support, gaming still feels smooth with variable refresh rate gaming and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) support. 

The Omni QLED delivers impressive graphics with vivid colors and great detail. It even supports Dolby Vision gaming, a feature uncommon in TVs at this price range, allowing Xbox Series X gamers to fully experience HDR. The TV also performs well for movies and TV shows, with decent contrast levels and a natural-looking image, despite being a budget model. Faces, in particular, display great textures and depth. 

While it doesn't offer 4K 120Hz support at this price point, the Omni QLED includes all the essential gaming technology needed for those on a tight budget, making it a serious contender for PS5 or Xbox Series X owners.

The Best Affordable 120Hz Gaming TV in the US

It is significantly more affordable than mini-LED TVs from brands like Sony or Samsung, yet delivers great brightness and exceptional contrast. Furthermore, it includes gaming features such as 4K 120Hz Dolby Vision gaming, a feature not found in many high-end models, let alone more affordable ones.

In our review, we noted that "its mini-LED tech delivers the high brightness viewers expect, while its local dimming offers the deep black shadows movie fans love," which applies to gaming as well. Compared to pricier mini-LED TVs, there may be some light leaking and reduced contrast from certain angles, common in more affordable models. However, the U8K performs remarkably well for its price point.

We measured the input lag at 13ms, which is average and suitable for most gamers. While it only has two HDMI 2.1 ports, which may be a limitation for those with multiple consoles, this is a common feature in TVs outside of Samsung and LG's offerings. For those seeking a TV that combines the most gaming features with excellent picture quality at a reasonable price, the Hisense U8K is the prime choice. It is also available in the UK, albeit at a slightly higher cost.

The Best Affordable 120Hz Gaming TV in the UK

It stands out as one of the best-value options for UK customers. While it is also available in the US, we believe the Hisense U8K (discussed above) provides better value in that market.

The Q80B falls just below Samsung's mini-LED Neo QLED models, featuring a conventional full array backlight instead. It may not offer the same black level performance or HDR precision as its pricier counterparts. Nevertheless, it includes four HDMI inputs that are HFR (high frame rate) compatible, a useful Game Bar menu for gaming features, and a polished smart TV interface. Only serious home cinephiles are likely to feel shortchanged. 

The Q80B is particularly appealing for gamers. Being a QLED display, it is impervious to screen burn, a popular feature among gamers. It offers four HDMI ports that support 4K 120Hz playback. Additionally, it includes ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), Nvidia G-Sync, and FreeSync Premium Pro support, making it perfect for gaming.

This TV also boasts above-average Dolby Atmos compatible sound, providing an immersive audio experience. We mentioned in our Samsung Q80B review that "Picture quality, particularly if you’re a bright room viewer, is impressive, and audio is immersive enough to stave off any additional soundbar purchase, at least until funds allow."

The Best Gaming TV for Bright Rooms

While the Hisense U8K (mentioned earlier in this guide) is nearly as bright, the QN90C offers slightly higher brightness and more size options. It features a QN90C mini-LED display, delivering incredible brightness, exceptionally low input lag for a TV of its size, and impressive HDR quality (although it does not support Dolby Vision).

The QN90C supports HDMI 2.1 across all four HDMI inputs, making it compatible with 4K 120Hz, as well as ALLM, VRR, and FreeSync Premium Pro. This makes it well-equipped for next-gen consoles, though it lacks Dolby Vision gaming. In addition to its popping brightness, exceptional motion tracking, and wide color palette, the QN90C stands out amongst its competitors. It does have a minor drawback - game mode sacrifices contrast and causes slight white-tone blooming. In terms of precise contrast, OLED TVs have a slight edge.

This TV provides a spectacular viewing experience, not just for gaming. Its contrast is impressive for an LED TV when watching movies, and it maintains a bright panel with a wide and convincing color range. The image processing avoids strange results with CGI, and the panel offers great wide viewing angles. 

If you want even more brightness, the Samsung QN95C is an alternative. However, it is available only in fewer sizes. If you want to combat reflections even in smaller sizes, the QN90C is the TV to choose.

The Best Gaming TV with Various Size Options

However, in our opinion, the Samsung S90C offers better value for the 55- to 77-inch models due to its brighter screen and superior built-in speakers. Nonetheless, the LG C3 surpasses most other options in terms of size variety, ranging from 42 inches to 83 inches. It excels in gaming features and overall image quality. 

During our testing, we were immensely impressed by the 4K OLED display, which delivers excellent black levels and range, though not as vibrant as the S90C. The lack of brightness is not an issue in controlled lighting but may be problematic in bright rooms. This is why we recommended the Samsung QN90C above, as it offers similar sizes with greater brightness. However, if brightness is not a priority, the LG C3 reigns supreme in terms of features and image quality.

Gamers have plenty to love about this TV, including FreeSync, G-Sync, and standard VRR out of the box. With a native 120Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 support, PS5 and Xbox Series X users can maximize resolution and frame rate. The LG C3 even supports 120Hz Dolby Vision gaming on Xbox. The incredible input lag is as good as it gets, and all models, including the smaller ones, have four HDMI 2.1 ports.

If you are searching for a gaming OLED TV that comes in either small or large sizes, the LG C3 should be your top choice. However, in terms of the mid-size models, the Samsung S90C surpasses the LG C3.

The Most Affordable OLED Gaming TV

OLED's renowned contrast still looks stunning, and the B3 supports 4K 120Hz gaming with VRR using regular HDMI, AMD FreeSync, or Nvidia G-Sync. LG's gaming menu allows easy adjustment of settings, including presets based on the genre of the game. 

The B3 boasts an impressive response time of 9.2ms with Boost turned on and automatically switches to gaming mode when a console is detected.

This TV also excels in movies and TV shows. While its image processor may be less advanced than the C3, it still delivers remarkable performance for a mid-range TV. It offers vivid colors, deep black levels, and excellent motion handling. While the audio may not be exceptional, it is acceptable, particularly when paired with a gaming headset.

With LG's frequent price reductions, the B3 is now extremely competitive compared to the LG C3, offering similar performance and features at a lower price.

The Best OLED Gaming TV for Brightness

It is approximately 70% brighter than the LG C3 and 20% brighter than the Samsung S90C, while still delivering deeper blacks and better contrast compared to non-OLED displays. In our review, we described it as a combination of brightness, black depth, contrast, and color that we have never seen before on a home TV. It is truly remarkable. It is worth noting that the LG G3 OLED beats this TV by a small margin in peak HDR brightness in small areas on the screen. However, overall, this TV offers higher fullscreen brightness than the G3, particularly excelling in gaming.

The QD-OLED TV includes four HDMI ports, all capable of supporting 4K at 120Hz, variable refresh rate, and automatic low latency mode switching. It also features an impressive built-in sound system with Dolby Atmos and Samsung's Object Tracking technology for positional audio.

While it lacks Dolby Vision gaming support for Xbox, its HDR performance is superb, overshadowing the omission of Dolby Vision. The only drawback is its high price, which is why we consider the S90C to be a better choice for most users. However, if your budget allows and you prioritize maximum brightness to combat bright rooms, the QD-OLED TV is a fantastic option.
