American actress, writer, producer, and director Alison Brie Schermerhorn (born December 29, 1982) Her breakthrough performance as Trudy Campbell on Mad Men (2007-2015) brought her critical acclaim and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She is well-known for her roles as Annie Edison (2009-2015) on the NBC comedy series Community and as Diane Nguyen (2014-2020) on the animated comedy series BoJack Horseman. She was nominated for two Golden Globes and two Critics' Choice Awards for her role as GLOW_characters#Ruth_Wilder" target="_blank">Ruth Wilder on the comedy-drama series GLOW (2017-2019).
In addition to her television work, Brie has also starred in films such as Scream 4 (2011), The Five-Year Engagement (2012), The Lego Movie (2014), Get Hard (2015), Sleeping with Other People (2015), How to Be Single (2016), The Little Hours (2017), The Disaster Artist (2017), The Post (2017), Promising Young Woman (2020), Horse Girl (2020), The Rental (2020), and Happiest Season (2020)
Early life [ edit ]
Alison Brie Schermerhorn was born in Hollywood, California on December 29, 1982. [1][2] Her dad, Charles Terry Schermerhorn, is a musician and entertainment journalist. [3, 4] Joanne Brenner's mother is employed by the non-profit organization Para los Nios ("For the Children") [7] Her older sibling's name is Lauren. Brie's mom is Jewish, as shown in [5][6]. Her paternal grandfather was raised a Catholic and can trace his roots back to the Dutch, the English, and the Scots. While she was growing up with her father and mother who later divorced, she occasionally went to a "Christian-Hindu hybrid church" called the Self-Realization Fellowship. In 2001, Brie earned her diploma from South Pasadena High. While transitioning from high school to college, she entertained kids at birthday parties as a clown for $14 an hour. [15][16]
Brie's first stage performance was at a Jewish center in Southern California. She has a BA in theater from the California Institute of the Arts that she earned in 2005 [6][17]. She spent a year studying at Glasgow's prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama [18]. [6][19]

In 2006, Brie made her television debut on the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana as Nina, a green hairstylist. In the AMC period drama Mad Men (2007-2015), she starred as Trudy Campbell, which brought her even more fame. The web series My Alibi, in which she starred, ran from 2008 to 2009.
Community was an NBC/Yahoo! View sitcom that she starred in from 2009 to 2015 as Annie Edison. She was recognized for her work and considered for the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Critics' Choice Television Award.
In April of 2010 (and again in March of 2011), Brie co-hosted an episode of Attack of the Show![20] and was featured in a Web Soup segment. [21] She was in the comedy film Montana Amazon from 2010. Maxim magazine ranked Brie at #99 on their 2010 Hot 100 list[22] and #49 on their 2011 Hot 100 list[23]. As of 2013, FHM readers ranked her as the 57th Sexiest Woman on the Planet. [25] In 2014, readers of AskMen ranked her as the number two most desirable woman in the world. [26]
Brie has played prominent roles in a number of films, including the slasher film Scream 4 (2011)[27] as Rebecca Walters, Sidney Prescott's assistant, and the romantic comedy film The Five-Year Engagement (2012) as Suzie Barnes. In addition to voicing Princess Unikitty in The Lego Movie (2014), she also voiced a character in an eighth-season episode of American Dad! [28][29]
Brie joined the cast of the new Netflix show BoJack Horseman in June of 2014. The show premiered on August 22. Since then, she has voiced many different people, such as Diane Nguyen, a main character, and Vincent Adultman, a recurring one. Performing "Shoop" by Salt-N-Pepa and "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj, Brie defeated Will Arnett on Lip Sync Battle. [32]
She co-starred with Jason Sudeikis in the 2015 romantic comedy Sleeping with Other People, directed by Leslye Headland, and appeared as Will Ferrell's character's fiancee in the comedy Get Hard. [33]
Both How to Be Single (2016), in which she played Lucy, and Dr. Thorne (2016), a television adaptation of Anthony Trollope's novel, featured Brie in leading roles. She appeared in multiple films this year, including the comedies The Little Hours and The Disaster Artist, as well as the drama The Post. citation needed[quote missing]
The Netflix comedy-drama GLOW, in which Brie stars as Ruth Wilder, was inspired by the 1980s female professional wrestling promotion Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling[34] and premiered on June 23, 2017. Brie said that after the success of her role in GLOW, she is more committed to acting in roles that matter to her. [35] For her performance, she earned multiple nominations for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series, and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy [36][37][38]
She appeared alongside Beck in the music video for "Colors" in 2018. In 2019, she voiced Princess Unikitty again in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part and dubbed the Japanese romantic fantasy film Weathering with You into English. citation needed(Citation required)
Brie starred as the lead in Emerald Fennell's Promising Young Woman, a drama/thriller, in 2020. In the same year ('40), she also penned, produced, and starred as Sarah in the Jeff Baena-helmed Netflix drama film Horse Girl. [41] Brie then starred opposite Dan Stevens in the horror film The Rental, which was directed by her husband Dave Franco In Clea DuVall's romantic comedy Happiest Season, [42] Brie played the role of Sloane. Brie's voice was featured prominently in the fifth season of the animated comedy Rick and Morty in 2021. [44]
It was announced in 2022 that she would be playing Annie again in a film adaptation of the Community television series. [45][46]
Intimate sphere [ edit ]
After meeting at a New Orleans, Louisiana, Mardi Gras party in 2011, Brie and Dave Franco began dating the following year. According to media reports, the couple got engaged on August 25, 2015.
