TV audiences have consistently shown strong demand for military dramas. We figured it was high time to make a list of the top military shows on television.

It's important to note that shows like NCIS, Homeland, Shooter, and The Last Ship are nowhere to be found on this list of the best military TV shows.

Why

Due to the nature of this list, we are focusing on military dramas in which military teams protect their countries from actual threats through actual combat or where active duty military personnel work behind the scenes to protect the members of the military in some other capacity, be it support or otherwise. legal or medical

Now that we've established that, let's get down to business and see which military TV shows actually made the cut.

Sky One and Cinemax Present: Strike Back (2010-2020)

The first is titled "Strike Back." A thrilling, action-packed television series co-produced by Cinemax (USA) and Sky One (UK) that debuted in 2010 and ran for eight seasons before ending in 2020.

In the book and film Strike Back, we follow Section 20, a covert unit of the British Defense Intelligence tasked with, among other things, gathering intelligence and eliminating threats around the world.

The most intriguing aspect of this military drama, however, is that each season not only has a new title, but also hints at the storylines that will unfold in that season. Additionally, Strike Back's six seasons have featured many different cast ensembles, which helps to ensure the show remains interesting and engaging throughout its run.

View Strike Back if you're interested in a British perspective on a covert unit doing what they do best. The show has everything a military fan could want from a television program However, the spy-thriller element is interesting because of the secretive nature of the team's assignments.

Originally airing on BBC One from 2014–2020, "Our Girl"

The British military TV series Our Girl is another essential addition to this list of the best new military TV shows. For the most part because it is so utterly dissimilar to the other shows here.

Our Girl's cast has shifted over its three seasons on the air, much like it did on Strike Back. But that doesn't alter the series' central premise. First in Afghanistan, then in Nairobi, and finally in Nepal and Nigeria, the series follows a British army medic (Molly in the first season and Georgie in the second through fifth).

We may be used to seeing male characters take center stage in military dramas, but Our Girl does the opposite by focusing on a female soldier and the unique challenges and rewards she faces in the armed forces.

If you're looking for a military drama with a strong female protagonist, then you should give Our Girl a try. It's one of the best army TV shows out there, and it gives you a fresh look at the military from a female viewpoint without sacrificing any of the thrilling action or nail-biting suspense you'd expect.

A Few Good Spots to Catch Our Girl

The thrill of watching a top-secret military unit in action, combined with excellent storytelling and a fantastic cast, makes this show one that can be watched over and over again without tiring of it.

The Brave is well worth watching, despite the fact that it only lasted for one season before being canceled. It's safe to assume that if you enjoy action shows or the military drama genre in general, you will also enjoy The Brave.

Who masterminds dangerous missions behind enemy lines, including the capture of ISIS leaders and the rescue of CIA operatives, among others.

Not any old female soldier, though You're one of the first who's a part of a secret chopper squad called the Shadow Raiders. Force that routinely undertakes perilous missions, many of which involve rescuing fellow servicemen held as prisoners by the enemy.

By dividing their missions up into individual episodes, Valor's 13-episode run may be short, but the show's serialized plot guarantees viewers' attention.
