"Elizabeth" Olsen

On February 16, 1989, in Sherman Oaks, California, Elizabeth Chase Olsen[1] entered the world. Her mom, Jarnie, danced professionally, and her dad, real estate agent Dave, was in the business. She is the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the twin fashion designers who rose to fame as child actresses in television and film. Additionally, Olsen has an older brother, a younger half-brother, and a younger half-sister. (5) Her parents split up in 1996. [6]

Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011) marked Olsen's feature film debut. After its debut at the Sundance Film Festival, both the film and her performance were met with widespread critical acclaim. [15][16] Olsen earned several award nominations for her portrayal of the titular Martha, a young woman suffering from delusions after fleeing her life in a cult and returning to her family,[15][17] including those for the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead [16] She claimed that her own curiosity about mental illness had piqued her interest in the protagonist. Afterwards, [14] Olsen was in the critically acclaimed horror film Silent House. Released in 2012[19] alongside Martha Marcy May Marlene's premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, [18] she also starred in the thriller Red Lights and the comedy Liberal Arts that year. [20]

In the 2015 biopic I Saw the Light, directed by Marc Abraham, Olsen portrayed Audrey Williams, the wife, manager, and duet partner of singer Hank Williams, played by Tom Hiddleston. In August of 2017, she starred in two critically acclaimed films, Wind River (about a rookie FBI agent) and Ingrid Goes West (about a social media influencer). [42][43][44]Vulture ' Critics had mixed reactions to Olsen's performance in Ingrid Goes West, with Peter Travers of Rolling Stone calling it "toxic perfection" and David Edelstein criticizing her "incongruously high-schoolish demeanor" in Wind River.[45] Her next film role was as a caregiver to Ed Harris's photographer character in the Netflix film Kodachrome. In the Facebook Watch web series Sorry for Your Loss, which premiered in September 2018, Olsen played the role of a young widow named Leigh Shaw and served as executive producer. In the three years it took to create the series, she was able to fully immerse herself in Shaw's impulses, she said [48]. Critics were generally favorable toward the series [49], and Olsen's performance was praised as "stunning," "disciplined and sharp," and "slyly sympathetic," earning her a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series [51]. After two seasons, the show was canceled in January of 2020 (see reference number 54). [55]

Olsen claims that she became an atheist at the age of 13 due to her belief that "religion should be about community and having a place to go in prayer, not something that should determine women's freedoms." After relocating to New York, she pursued and obtained a real estate license. Olsen is a brand ambassador for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, which is referenced in the following sentence: From 2011 until 2014, she dated actor Boyd Holbrook. [67]

Robbie Arnett, of the American band Milo Greene, and Olsen have been engaged since July 2019. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the couple eloped and married in secret. [68][69] She shares a home with Arnett in the Los Angeles area. They collaborated on a children's book titled Hattie Harmony and the Worry Detective, which came out in June of 2022. [72]
