New and enhanced performance
To put it bluntly, I have never encountered or used a more terrible streaming app than this one. That's just illogical. In less than 24 hours of use, I have run into the following problems: • The orientation of the currently playing media cannot be altered If you close the app while watching something, the next time you open it, the screen will be black and the sound will be muted or vice versa. • You can access previous episodes of the season via a scrollable bar at the player's bottom ( I don't see why I'd ever want this. • There is no option on the Home Screen to automatically play the next episode of a series I'm currently watching, which defeats the purpose of having it there in the first place. My show and season have to be chosen from the available options in the show lists by hand. unless I'm watching multiple episodes back-to-back (in which case there's a next episode button after the current episode finishes), I have to sign in every time I open the app after not using it for more than 30 minutes. • The option to skip a show's opening credits does not exist. I'm sure I'm leaving something out. I don't understand how the team behind this ever approves it. It looks like something a student would create in middle school. It's so bad that it's funny The situation is embarrassing; AMC should probably start a GoFundMe page.

Terrible performance on an Apple TV. Initiation was made by registering. I downloaded the app after signing up for a free trial through Apple, but I was unable to log in. Even though I had already begun the trial through Apple, I was prompted to enter my credit card information after I was prompted to create a login. Therefore, I had to sign up for a second subscription and then return to my Apple ID subscriptions page to cancel the trial. As a result, I must use their website to handle my subscription. Infuriating, but whatever The app itself is another factor. It's a hassle to use this app for watching videos. There will be times when the show unexpectedly stops. The only solution is to exit the app and then re-enter it, and even then it won't always pick up where you left off. Reverting to an earlier state is equally absurd. It's very difficult to skip forward or backward using the touchpad or iPhone screen. The cursor on the progress bar will jump around wildly at the slightest touch of the remote. Sliding back and forth overshooting where you were repeatedly until you land in the ballpark and say "Screw it" is all that's required. and settle in to watch the last 5 or 10 minutes you've already seen, only to have the app freeze up 15 minutes later There were at least three freezes in an episode of an hour-long show I was watching.
Until now, I had no idea how bad a streaming app could be.
I took advantage of the Black Friday offer because I was eager to watch A Discovery of Witches. A two from me because I enjoy the material and have found some new shows to watch thanks to it. If not, I would rate the app itself with no stars at all. Irreconcilable profile creation issues, for real I noticed this right away, and it continues to annoy me. Profiles are a staple of any streaming service. My wife and I have very different tastes in television, so it would be convenient if we could create separate profiles. Irredeemable navigation When you pause an episode of television and want to pick up where you left off, you have to go through the entire process all over again. The navigation is terrible all around. That new episode is actually starting in a few minutes. Has no options to control whether the next episode plays automatically or not. When I return to the app after an absence of, say, 24 hours, I will be prompted to enter my login details. Every time What a pain! The functionality of this app is far below what is expected in today's world of streaming due to the high standards set by competing services. Unfortunately, I have seen similar posts dating back months, but nothing has been updated or done to address the problems raised. I won't be renewing my membership unless there are significant changes.
