BRING ON THE GAME SHOWS!

There's something undeniably appealing about game shows; they're the perfect companion to any activity. Cooking dinner? Turn on a game show. Repainting the living room? Turn on a game show. Enjoying a quick snack? Turn on a game show. The options are endless, and few countries can match the diversity and quality of British game shows.

Some game shows are exceptional, while others leave something to be desired. We all have our preferences, but that doesn't stop us from watching. As license fee payers, it's our right!

So, without further ado, here are 21 British game shows ranked from worst to best. And our verdict is final.

21. Tipping Point

Ben Shephard may have aged a thousand years after seven long years of watching coins moving slowly across the board before ultimately disappointing contestants with their final placement. It's a show that frustrates viewers and tempts them to switch to something more interesting, like a rerun of Wife Swap. The general knowledge questions are simplistic, and the game mechanics are lacklustre. It's a weak game.

20. Family Fortunes

Tommy obliterated Toyah Willcox in a fastest-finger-first general knowledge round, but we're all left wondering who cares? The questions are too easy, and the contestants' answers are mostly ridiculous. This show serves little purpose other than reminding us that the average person's knowledge is woefully inadequate. And yet, we all watch in morbid fascination.

19. Hole in the Wall

This show is entirely about making celebrities look stupid on TV. The human Tetris concept is amusing at first, but it quickly gets old. The contestants have to wear tight bodysuits that lead to unintentional comedy. And the wall can be downright brutal. It's all a bit of a laugh, but it doesn't add much meaning to our lives.

18. University Challenge

This show is heartless for those of us who are less intelligent. It's tailored towards dads, smart people, and university students with friends on the show. If you don't fit into those categories, it's a struggle to participate in proceedings. The whole reason people like game shows is to shout out answers, but with University Challenge, you'll just feel inadequate. We recommend staying in school and brushing up on your general knowledge.
